LSC / Project Support Worker                                                            

Purpose of the role
  • Working within the aims, policies and principles of the CAB Service: To provide effective support necessary to manage, monitor & develop a number of different projects.

Main duties and responsibilities may include

Planning & Development

  • Working in conjunction with the Project Manager and providing administrative support towards the delivery of project services and introduction of new projects.


  • Provide support necessary to manage the development of existing projects in line with corporate objectives.


  • Provide support necessary for the Project Manager in the achievement and development of other service wide objectives.


Service Delivery

Provide administrative support needed to manage the delivery of project services.

Funding, Promotion and External Liaison

  • Maintain a stakeholder data base necessary to liaise and develop effective relationships with external agencies, organisations and other sectors of the community.


  • Provide administrative support needed to promote & publicise project based services in line with corporate objectives.


  • Identify and collate information that will enable access to new and existing stakeholders/funding opportunities.


  • In conjunction with the Project Manager research for background information necessary to prepare funding applications.

Service-wide initiatives (social policy, equalities, quality of advice and service delivery):

  • Provide support necessary to effectively implement and ensure the effective operation of identified initiatives within projects.


  • Provides administrative support to enable effective implementation, development and quality assurance of one or more initiatives across the service.


Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support necessary to comply with Health and Safety regulations


  • Maintain a diary system to prioritise targets set


  • Carry out any other relevant tasks as required to support the position of the Operation Manager in the development of the Service and the delivery of its services.

Personal skills and qualities needed:

  • Willingness to develop and get experience of planning and development of including the implementation, management and monitoring of project.


  • Willingness to understand the issues involved in the delivery of project services.


  • Willingness/ability to find innovative solutions to a range of complex problems.


  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work within an agreed framework.


  • Understanding of and a commitment to the aims, principles and policies of the CAB service.


  • Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively and a willingness to challenge constructively.


  • Ability to monitor and maintain own standards and those of others


  • Effective communication and presentation skills.


  • Flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a team.


  • Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information.


  • Ability to use Information and Communications technology in the work place.


  • Awareness of the potential role of IT in advice giving and service delivery.


  • Willingness to work at different locations in Wandsworth and other London Boroughs.
