Volunteering with WCABx

There are many and varied opportunities for those wishing to volunteer with Wandsworth CABx

If you are interested in volunteering with Wandsworth CABx, we recruit on a rolling programme approximately 4 times a year, commencing with an Information Open Day. You may register your interest with a brief CV or our Volunteer Application Form by e-mail – volunteering@wandsworthcabx.org.uk or post – Training & Development Officer, 5th Floor Bedford House, 215 Balham High Road, London SW17 7BQ.

We are able to provide you with good training and a rewarding work experience in your own community. As a volunteer you will benefit from getting back into the work environment, gain valuable transferable skills and contribute to the community.

Our training is professional and work-based; in an advice/office setting. You will grow in confidence and gain the ability to handle difficult issues and further your employment prospects. Volunteering can also lead to further education, training and employment.

Wandsworth CABx is looking for people with a teaching or financial background to provide Financial Capability training, delivering community level initiatives that help people develop the skills and confidence to better manage their money and avoid money problems.

Training will be provided in Financial Capability and for those without a teaching background there will be training in teaching skills.

Our Volunteers say...

" I have been a volunteer at the Battersea Bureau for the past 18 months. The time spent here has been both rewarding and insightful. Overall, my time spent in Battersea bureau has helped me grow as an individual and given me the self belief that one person can make a difference." - Stephen Woodman, Battersea volunteer

" As a Social Policy co-ordinator I had some of my Bureau Evidence Forms published in the SP Bulletin and receiving thank you letters from the head office made me feel proud that I was utilising the skills and experience I had acquired through my education and putting them into good use" - Helen Botchy Roehampton volunteer
